About

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Washington. I have been working in mental health in Seattle since 2008, both in private practice and in the public schools through Sound Mental Health. Prior to my work as a therapist, I spent 10 years mentoring college students and leading art mentoring groups. These experiences led me to return to school to study counseling psychology to become further equipped to walk beside people in their areas of struggle. I firmly believe we can find more freedom and fulfillment in our lives when we allow a trusted other to walk with us in our journey.

Therapeutic Approach

I am trained in relational and psychodynamic psychotherapy and informed by attachment theory. I approach therapy as a collaborative space where we both contribute to gain insight into your past and present. By examining your past interactions, we can learn how they have impacted your patterns of relation in the present. This includes seeking awareness of what is occurring between the two of us during our session. My goal is to walk beside you in your process of pursuing change, wholeness, and greater freedom in life and relationship. I believe that each person is unique, and together we can create an approach to your issues and help bring about the change you desire.

I am trained in EMDR therapy and am happy to explore this approach as an option. I also utilize sensory motor and mindfulness self-compassion practices when it fits with our work.
